Between the most recent royal wedding and our new fall collection, it’s safe to say that the Peach home office has a huge case of Brit Fever! We can’t get enough of their polished, fashion-forward style and neither can our Design Director, Daniela Bascuñan. So, she sat down and channeled her inner Kate Middleton to bring you the best fall fashion collection yet.
Read more below to learn more about the details of the collection and where she drew her design inspiration.
1. London Calling
“We named this collection ‘London Calling’ after the song by British punk-rock band, The Clash. Not only did Rolling Stone name this song one of the “Greatest Songs of All Time,” but it remains a true testament to British culture. Infused with the typical quirky style of London, it refuses to be defined by a single thing– much like our fall fashion collection, which covers everything including gym, work and play. Plus, it’s also a really great beat!” Take a listen here.
2. Fall Fashion Colors – 2018
“Two of the most prominent colors in this collection are red and purple, and it’s by no act of coincidence! Our Kensington Red is the iconic hue seen throughout the city of London on phone booths, double-decker buses and, of course, the British flag. Our Royal Purple, however, has not only historically been the color that identifies royalty, but it’s also the official Pantone color of the year! You’re going to want this one in your fall wardrobe, for sure.”
3. Must-Have Outerwear For Fall
“As a nod to traditional British heritage, we constructed the Duchess Cape in a cozy modernized cable knit; while the cape silhouette channels the iconic style of the monarchy. Meghan might have killed our chances at becoming the next Duchess, but that doesn’t mean we can’t dress like it. The Duchess cape will have you looking like fashion royalty, even while you run around doing all your commoner errands.”
4. Fashion Trend: Dark Florals
“The Carnaby Floral is our incredible new fall print. It gets its name from Carnaby Street, a pedestrianized shopping street in London’s Soho neighborhood that’s home to lifestyle and fashion retailers, along with numerous independent boutiques. Naming this print after a such a fashion-centric destination seemed like the perfect fit since it incorporates some of the season’s hottest trends, most notably: dark grounded florals.”
5. Collegiate Details
“When you think of English universities like Oxford, this traditional collegiate style comes to mind complete with crisp collared shirts and bold two-tone color-blocking on everything from sweaters and rugby shirts, to scarves. I wanted to make sure I was able to capture these iconic elements in this collection, so I incorporated collared silhouettes for an ultra-polished look and transformed this color-blocking concept into a more fashion-forward and ergonomic design to create the newest addition to our workout leggings. And to make sure the collection lives up to the well-tailored dressers who call these universities their alma mater, I gave meticulous attention to the seaming details; ensuring the most flattering fit possible for all body types. You won’t be disappointed.” See our latest collection here starting on Tuesday 8/14.
